The Red Clay Bluegrass Festival will be held on August 18 to August 20 for 2017 .

Unfortunately, due to Illness there will be no Barbecue meal . Chef Norman from the Galley will be there with his Food Cart serving delicious meals at reasonable prices. Jewel Finaly will also be there with her Ice cream cart.

Erica Brown and Bluegrass Connection from Portland, Maine play and sing traditional  erica brown & Bluegrass Connection& original Bluegrass music. Erica has been performing since the age of seven & currently her band performs all over New England. Erica is also a member of the Stowaways, Darlin Corey & Record Family Band.Her talent for combining precision of  classical music with spontaneity of country and bluegrass fiddle makes for a fun filled performance every time. Her band members include herself- Fiddle & Vocals, Matt Shipman- Guitar & Vocals, Steve Roy- Mandolin & Vocals, Ken Taylor- Bass & Vocals & Reed McNamara- Banjo.





Wildwood band 2Janet McGarry and Wildwood, P.E.I


Lead Singer,Janet McGarry continues to be one of the top performing female Bluegrass artists in eastern Canada with 11 albums to her credit. Janet collaborated with many of the genre’s leading performers & Janet & husband, Serge have performed many years at Bluegrass festivals & many other events throughout Canada & USA, Their unique vocals make them a crowd favorite wherever they appear.She is 5 time Award winner of ”Female Vocalists of Year” earning her a “Masters” & She is also a proud “Daughter of Bluegrass” . Her Band Members are  Husband, Serge Bernard- Guitar,Banjo,Mandolin & Harmony vocals,Denise MacLeod-fiddle/vocals,Gail Mullen- upright Bass/vocals & Dylan Ferguson- Guitar/vocals.

Bluegrass Tradition from Nova Scotia has been performing since 2005 playing traditional Bluegrass music.The band has won & been nominated for many awards over past 10 years including ECMA Album of year,Most promising Band of year,Vocal group of year, Gospel performance of year & Band of Year.They have just released their 4th CD titled Carolina Home & have a busy summer schedule ahead. Band members are Trevor Boutilier – Mandolin,Guitar & Vocals, Karen DeCoste- Bass & Vocals, Fraser Martin- Fiddle, Guitar & Vocals & Darren Richard- Banjo & Vocals.                                                                 








Blue Train

Blue Train consists of Jamie Melanson-Guitar & Vocals, Jeff Nauss- Mandolin & Vocals, Justin Nauss- Dobro & Vocals, Jason Guimond- Banjo, & Sebastien Landry-Bass.These five guys are no stranger to Bluegrass Music & have a great deal of maturity in their music. Their music influences are from Tony Rice to the Lonesome River Band which reflects on their music to be traditional but with a hard drive to it. They are very excited to be part of lineup at our Festival & eager to put on a energetic show for us.








Wheatley River

The Wheatley River Band has been playing for 10 years & is well nown on PEI’s Bluegrass scene and enjoy playing the old traditional Bluegrass tunes.Band members are David Tingley- Guitar & Vocals, Allen Boland- mandolin & Vocals, Mark Van Ryn- Banjo & harmonica, Ann Hay- Bass & harmony.

    Band members are  Charlie Hansen,Bass player, Beatrice Arsenault and  Julie Arsenault are main singers ,Mike Richards plays mandolin and  David Albert,lead guitar  player ,also Charlie Hansen do some      vocals also Julie also  has a CD out.                                                                                             





 SK Bluegrass                                                  

SK Bluegrass was formed in 1997 with numerous members coming and going but having lots of fun &  bonding friendships. We play at all PEI Festivals & in 2011 had the privilege to play at the Nova Scotia Bluegrass & Old Time Music. Band members are Frank Brown;Vocals & banjo, Eileen Brown: Guitar & vocals, Glenda Johnston; Upright bass & vocals, Jerome Arsenault: Mandolin, guitar & vocals .

Eddy Poirier and Grassline

Grassline is a new band with the formation of 3 generations of the Eddy Poirier family from New Brunswick. Eddy is a 5 time winner of entertainer/Guitar player of year at the ECBMA’s  making him a master in both as well as winning many other awards. Eddy plays Banjo, Fiddle, Guitar, Mandolin, lead & Harmony Vocals.Members of his band include his son , Robert who plays Bass & Vocals,His grandson, Bryan(Robert’s son)who plays Mandolin, Banjo, Fiddle, Dobro, Bass, Autoharp & Vocals, A cousin, Laurie Chavarie who plays Guitar, Mandolin, Vocals. Robert Played for several years with the Bluegrass 4 & Laurie recently ended a 20 year stint with Timberland Express.







    Peggy Clinton & Johnny Ross

Peggy Clinton has enjoyed singing & entertaining since childhood. Her distinctive upbeat presence & rich vocals combine to ignite audiences with smiles & laughter-she is clearly at home when on stage & everyone is her guest. Known primarily for Country music covers she surprised fans in 2015 when she released a polished album of original songs. The self-titled recording led to 3 Music PEI award nominations, of which she took home the hardware for “Weekend Warrior of the year”. Her latest collaboration is with Island piano player, Johnny Ross. Since sharing the spotlight in 2012, the duo took of & never looked back.

Johnny Ross has played an active role in PEI’s music scene for 2 decades.He has developed a unique, genre-blurring style,highlighted by exciting performances  that feature fast fingers,feet & limbs dancing across the keys.He is a member of multiple groups including Haunted Hearts, an ECMA nominated band that won 6 awards  between 2009 & 2011.He released his debut CD, Keys to the show in 2015 & was nominated for Musician of the year at the 2016 Music PEI awards.

As a duo They compliment each other, bringing similar enthusiasm & energy reserves to the stage. Their motto is ‘Let the good times roll”.
