Gordie Mackeeman & His Rhythm Boys
Fiddle phenom Gordie Mackeeman & His Rhythm Boys are the latest in that proud lineage of bands performing spirited,hand crafted music. This rollicking quartet do a flawless job of drawing from the Irish, Scottish,bluegrass & the western swing traditions in a freewheeling manner that is guaranteed to get any audience hopping. Featuring fiddle,vocals,bass,drums, percussion, mandolin, banjo, guitar & pedal string guitar, these four award-winning musicians have delighted audiences as far away as England’s Glastonbury festival & at premier venues in Malaysia & Australia.
Taking their name from Main Street of their hamlet,Winterline plays a selection of old & new favorites. The group does everything from the Beatles to Bill Munroe, from Miranda Lambert to Rhonda Vincentso they have something for the young & old. In their hard driving group there are Gabe Gagnon on guitar & vocals,Joyce Gagnon on mandolin& vocals,Ron Jubenville on Banjo & vocals ,Ken Robichaud on Dobro & vocals, Bernie Caron on Mandolin,Violin & vocals & Jared Lozon on upright Bass.This group has won many Individual & group awards at the CCBA.
Janet McGarry and Wildwood, P.E.I
Janet is an integral part of Eastern Canada’s vibrant Bluegrass music Scene & tours with her band Wildwood. She is a five time female vocalist of the year,earning her a”Masters”in the category at the Eastern Bluegrass Music Awards and she is also the proud “Daughter of Bluegrass”, a group of International Women In Bluegrass. She appears with her bandmates, Husband, Serge Bernard, Denise MacLeod,Gail Mullen&Dylan Ferguson. Together they bring a special brand of Bluegrass to their audience.
New Vintage Is a band from Nova Scotia.Members are scattered across Cumberland & Colchester counties. They play a variety of traditional & contemporary Bluegrass as well as some classic country & old time fiddle tunes. Never knowing what to expect next, you are sure to hear something that you enjoy. Band members have been nominated & have won various awards at the Eastern Canadian Bluegrass awards.Having all been in other Bluegrass bands,members of New Vintage bring different styles & sounds to familiar standards & some maritime originals
Highway Train is a Moncton based band that started playing Bluegrass festivals in 2015. Although this band is new to Bluegrass the band members are all veterans of the music. Each band member has played many years with some of the Maritime’s favorite bands. All band members sing lead & harmony vocals. Band members include Calvin DeLeavey on banjo, Ron Girouard on mandolin, Marcel Duplessis on Bass & Shane Douthwright on guitar.
Two Plus Three
Band members are Charlie Hansen,Bass player, Beatrice Arsenault and Julie Arsenault are main singers ,Mike Richards plays mandolin and David Albert,lead guitar player ,also Charlie Hansen do some vocals also Julie also has a CD out.
Dunromin began as a duo of friends ,Vans Bryant (guitar,vocals) & Harold Noye(mandolin,vocals) in 2002. These entertainers were later joined by Marnie Noye on Bass & the trio kept very busy for the next seven years on & of PEI before taking a break. Upon reuniting in 2015, Dunromin was pleased to welcome fiddler & vocalist, John Campbell to join them in their very busy schedule at a wide variety of venues & have also recorded two CD’s .
SK Bluegrass was formed in 1997 with numerous members coming and going but having lots of fun & bonding friendships. We play at all PEI Festivals & in 2011 had the privilege to play at the Nova Scotia Bluegrass & Old Time Music. Band members are Frank Brown;Vocals & banjo, Eileen Brown: guitar & vocals, Glenda Johnston; upright bass & vocals, Jerome Arsenault: mandolin, guitar & vocals .
A New Shade Of Blue
A new Shade of Blue hales from Nova Scotia & has been active on the Bluegrass scene since 1990. Over the years the Band has won several individual as well as group awards. Although all members are multi -instrumentmentalists the focus remains on the vocals.The band is quite capable of delivering one, two,three or four part harmonies back with whichever instrument compliments each song. . This allows for a wide array of songs fro a four piece band.Band members are Terry Mumford playing Bass & singing bass vocals, Dean Simm, mandolin,guitar & vocals, Todd Macumder ,guitar,mandolin & vocals , Brett Decker, fiddle,guitar, banjo & vocals. Allison Simm , Dean’s daughter also makes appearances as well.
