Travis Chandler was born in Richmond, VA & grew up with a musical father & mother. He started his musical journey as a child becoming a student of traditional music that his mother & father loved so much. Travers sings all parts with the band & is best known for being one of the few young mandolinists who plays in traditional style . Danny Paisley deemed him “King of Tremolo” while James King called him “one of best traditional musicans in bluegrass”.His music often fuses old honky tonk country of country music heroes such as George Jones, Wayne Kemp, Vernon Oxford & Mel Street.Travers has also taken top honors in Mandolin At Mt Airy Fiddlers convention in Sparta,NC & Old Fiddlers convention in Galax,Virginia. His old schoolapproach includes not having a setlist & constantly adapting the show to the interest of the audience. His general, often witty & sarcastic stage patter & MC work entertains the crowd while moving the show along at a fast pace . Currently he is working on a fourth album while writing a biography on his hero, the late Charlie Moore. Travers now resides in Taylorsville, NC at the foot of the Brushy Mountains & travels with Ray Edwards, Merl Johnson, Adam Peindeter & Steve Block in his Band.
